Static only on some calls

I have a Krazr by Motorola. It pairs with the car perfectly every time. When I call people, everyone says that the call quality is perfectly fine - incoming calls are identified, phonebook synchs etc... all is well.

However, once in a while I will try and make a series of calls where all the other person hears is static, and can not hear me at all. For instance, this morning it was my wife who could not hear me for 6-8 calls in a row (both incoming and outgoing). I was on my way into work on the route where we *never* have any issues along the way with call clarity. Signal strength is full, everything looks good. All she hears is static.... So I pull over in a parking lot... try calling her 3-4X in a row... static. Then one time I get through, and it is crystal clear. She was in the paint store, so she was not moving.

Anyone else have the same issues?

What are the software and flex versions on your KRZR? (they're under settings -> phone status -> other information or something to that effect)

Do you usually have the ring style set to silent or vibrate?
Do you have a non-zero key volume?
Do you usually dial from the phone or the car?

Bizzare. But cellular service is so hard to diagnose. They play games with the calls too during busy hours... it would be difficult to tell if it's your phone, the service, the location, interference, etc.

Maybe your wife just didn't feel like talking to you and was using that as an excuse!
