I have the oem ipod interface, and when I turn the car off, the songs keep playing, when I turn the car back on, it usually is about 5 minutes past where it was when I turned the car off, I already set all my songs to remember playback position, but that doesnt seem to work, after searching, it seems like I need a software upgrade, anyone else have this problem?

Don't have that problem. I think once while on the phone mine didn't pause... but I'm not positive.

i do. it seems as if you shut your ipod off with the radio on/off button it will stop playing, however when you restart the car the ipod starts up even if you do not press the radio on/off button to on. kind of works like a mute button. if i turn off the car but leave the ipod on, it will stop playing and then restart exactly where it left off. the ipod seems to also start playing if you open a door but do not turn the engine on.
i have the dealer installed ipod interface in the glove box, and also have my ipod set to remember playback position.

When you stop your engine, are you locking your car? That will stop your iDrive and iPod. If you are pulling into your garage and leave the car unlocked, as I do, then the iPod will still run.

If the latter is the case, push your Engine Off button twice to shut down the car as if you were locking the car.
