Need a quick phone recommendation
Trying to decide between:
Motorola RAZR V3m Motorola MOTOKRZR K1m LG VX8700 All should be compatible according to Verizon Wireless, but on the RAZR V3m is also on the BMW compatibility list. Any thoughts about these? Comparisons / ratings? Compatibility issues? Thanks!

I have the V3m and it works very well. 0 compatibility problems. I don't see why the K1m would be any different, only downside is the super small screen on the K1m.
I don't know about the LG as I have only owned Moto or Sony/Ericsson. |

Either of the Motorola products should be fine. I've heard bad things about LG but I've had no first-hand experience.

Thanks guys. I think there are some issues with the LG, and usually stick with Motorola products anyway. The only advantage I can see for the K1m is slightly longer battery life, but at the cost of a larger phone.
Think I'll go with the RAZR V3m - glad to hear no compatibility issues!

Isn't the KRZR smaller than the RAZR? Smaller and longer battery life?

Yes the V3m's battery gets drained really fast with bluetooth. I was charging it about once every 3 days, after bluetooth I have to charge it every day. I am even using a brand new OEM Motorola battery...

Bluetooth drains most batteries pretty fast. My current 810 drains fast too.

Why do you really like Motorolas that much? I see no reason why one would buy such a low-end phone to use in the high-end of automotive pleasure (BMW). I can see that the Motorolas are small but small makes them somehow "girly" (no offense here) to my personal taste. I personally stand in favour of Sony Ericsson phones, although Nokia is respectable as well. If I needed an all rounder, however, with no compatibility issues, high battery life and full of characteristics, I would go for a Sony Ericsson.

Indeed. Its more about what phone actually works with my car. There are only 4 Verizon phones on the BMW approved list and I don't want a PDA phone of the cheapest phone they list. That leaves the RAZR.

I have an unlocked Nokia that syncs with my car with no issues everytime I get near it. The list BMW provides is only the phones that will download all features(like contact lists). But that doesnt mean any other phone wont work. I dont have my full contact list download but that doesnt bother me, it still shows who is calling when I get a call anyway.
Phones on Verizon(or Sprint) will lose battery life poorly anyway and incredibly when Bluetooth is on all day. GSM phones will last considerably longer. Motorola Im not a fan of at all(wicked bad quality control). But if thats all youre choices Id go with the Krzr.
