AW available in Waterloo, Ontario

BIMMERPOST / Classifieds
Asking Price:
None

Item Interest
Looks like I will have to cancel my order for this car. The stealership has told me that they will not give me back my deposit because this car is "special". What a joke if I cancel they can keep my $2500 and then sell to someone else for MSRP plus. Don't want to lose my deposit so wondering if anyone is interested in buying the car. It is a stripper AW that is produced this month and delivered in January. Not exactly sure how we would do it because of the taxes but just trying to figure out options.

I have contacted them to find out if I bring in a buyer and they write up a successful deal will they refund my deposit. We will see but my guess is they will say no.

I doubt they would sell directly to a customer in the USA but I will find out.

The deposit is refundable by LAW. Don't listen to that crap. Let them know that your lawyer will contact them soon and they will call you back and refund you.

I be really shocked if it's not refundable in Canada as well. You have not received anything or your deposit. It must be refundable. That is BS.

Their argument is also BS that this is a special car. Well no $hit, that is exactly why they will not have any problem selling this car to the tens of people that call every week asking if they have a 1M available.

Apparently in Ontario unless specified there is no cooling off period in a contract. They say that I have to either take the car or lose my deposit. I am very upset in the first place as I really want to buy this car however my current divorce proceedings are going to cause me problems.

I definitely think that this is a "special" car and that is why their argument is such BS. I paid under MSRP for this car so as if they are going to have any trouble selling it for MSRP or more than that. Then they have the nerve to want to take my deposit on top of that

In your case, I would take the car. You need some method of unwinding after your divorce. This is perfect. Think about it.

I thought cooling off period is only after you take the car.

In California we do not have a cooling off period either but all deposits are by law refundable until actual delivery of the car. You can order any car with any options and refuse delivery once it arrives. The contract begins when you sign the paperwork with the finance dept, right?

What do you guys think deposits are for? If the dealer sold the OP's 1m on him and didn't own up to their end of the deal I'm sure the OP would be upset. You made a commitment to someone, shook their hand and signed a deal. Man up and take the car or suck up with $2500.

Totally agree if this was going to cause any problem whatsoever for the dealership. Fact is they will be more than happy if I don't take the car as they will make even more money.

Thanks to everyone else for the positive comments. If I cannot help out another enthusiast get the car then I will enjoy it in my post-divorce bliss.

No I think it is to late for that. In all of Canada I am sure that someone will want a stripped down AW 1M but if they don't then I will just enjoy my new car. I am to damn cheap to lose $2500 on a car that I really want in the first place. My ex-wife can complain all she wants

Dealer gave me back my deposit and I hope that Tom enjoy's the car. Now that I did that I am going to jump back in the game and try and find a used fully loaded VO. I had ordered an AW stripper but really wanted VO and it was to late to change.
