Residual?

I'm going to be ordering a 335i finally on Friday. Space gray/coral. My dealer here told me 60% residual and I noticed while browsing the forum that there were some 71%'ers. I was just curious about what is considered a common residual and what is considered a high? They are knocking $1250 off a 50k msrp, which I am satisfied with. I mainly want to make sure I am not getting jerked around on the leasing end. MF was at 5.28%. I appreciate all the help.

Thank You,
Chris

Garage List
MF should be more like 0.0150 not 5.28....maybe that's a finance rate?

Is it possible you were comparing residuals with leases of different terms? For example, the residual for a one or two year lease will be higher than a three year lease.

One other thing to keep in my mind is that you're paying for an extra eight months of depreciation in May than you would have last October.

It probably was a different lease term. Here are some lease rates for April 2007

2007 BMW 328i Convertible
24 Month – Residual 71% of MSRP – .00320 Base Rate
36 Month – Residual 60% of MSRP – .00320 Base Rate
48 Month – Residual 48% of MSRP – .00320 Base Rate
60 Month – Residual 39% of MSRP – .00320 Base Rate

2007 BMW 335i Coupe
24 Month – Residual 68% of MSRP – .00185 Base Rate
36 Month – Residual 58% of MSRP – .00185 Base Rate
48 Month – Residual 43% of MSRP – .00320 Base Rate
60 Month – Residual 35% of MSRP – .00320 Base Rate

Edit - I now these are two difeerent cars, but you get the idea.

Care to elaborate on that?

BTW, my 335i coupe with 36 month term got a 61% residual value

It was based on 36mo. 12k/yr. I think I am going to do 15k/yr though. MF was .0022, but that car lease calculator on the web converted it to 5.28% for some reason. The estimated value of the vehicle after the lease term is
29,5xx, I find it hard to believe it will only be worth that after 3 years. I was thinking somewhere along the line of 35k. I sold my 05 G35 loaded with 19k miles for 28k, paid 36k. Thats 8k depreciation over 2 years. I would think given the demand for this car and that its a BMW, it would hold its value better than an infiniti.

Purchase price $48,675
4900 down (including startups) 36mo. 15k/yr. @ 58% residual, $679 or $697 (incl. tax) (dont have ppw handy with me atm to verify payment) . How does this sound? MF .00150 (using security deposit toward cap reduction)
