Strategy for Acquiring an e92 335
As I have now posted my e90 330 on Craigslist to find somebody to assume my lease, and the response has been overwhelming in just a couple of hours, I now need to get moving on finding a 335 coupe. I don't want to factory order, as I don't want to wait four months. I mean, isn't the point of having a sports car the ability to enjoy it during the summer months?
What is the best way of finding a car near impossible to get? What is the best way to contact dealers via the net? To find out if people have cancelled orders already in production??? The good news here is that I am fairly flexible on options and colors. Any advice would be appreciated. Acceptable colors: Sparkling Graphite, Black Saph, Jet Black, Space gray Must have Options: Premium, Sport, Paddles, NAV. Everything else I am flexible on. Thanks in advance. |

Well wanting an auto will help your chances, I'd loosen up on your color choices to include TiAg and I am willing to bet that it won't be too hard to find one. Bug your local dealer, then start bugging dealers further out. Shouldn't be too difficult.

Hi
I actually ordered mine in September before they were released and was able to negotiate about $750 above invoice. I ended up with an order however I called every dealership within a 200 mile radius and spoke to as many sales advisers as I could. By the end of it, I knew where every car with the color and options I wanted was located or when they would arrive. You can never substitute a phone call with email. Call these guys in the late morning when there isn't a rush! |

Try autotrader.....do a search for a 335I within 100 miles. Also go to the advance search option on the bottom of the page and select 2 doors. Alot of info is wrong on autotrader so on't narrow your search any more. Then when you find one that night work for you go to the dealers website and check it out further and email a sales person. There are several around NJ and lower NY. Your biggest hurdle will be finding the color you want with sports package. They are around the NYC metro area.
