335d DCT

When a car isn't offered with an MT... DCT should be offered! Especially on an mSport package!

I'm not sure BMW has a DCT with the capability of handling the d's torque.

I have all the confidence in BMW that they could make one. The m5 is a much heavier car, with some serious torque.

Anyhow, I hope they offer it some time in the future. It would be the icing on the cake... I doubt there will ever be a manual.

The new M5 yes, but the E60M doesnt have "that" much only 38X ft/lbs which is less than the 35d

The E60 and F10 have significantly larger transmission tunnels than the E90. The issue was finding something strong enough to handle the M57's torque AND fit within the E90's form factor....only the ZF 6HP26TU/28 was able to do that.

Thanks for the info! I hope they do create a DCT one day... I was impressed with the new paddles and the quick, smooth shifting. But nothing is as fun as a manual. DCT just sounds like the best of both.

What am I going to do with my left foot?

Keep it planted on the dead pedal to help you keep your body stabilized while you're twisting through the corners.

I actually think the step suits the diesel quite well. I'd like to see the new 8 speed in it so they could shorten up the lower gears a bit to help make up for our lack of RPM range but, keep the awesome highway mileage.

The diesel isn't a "Performance" car per se. The DCT is a performance transmission, do the math. I'd prefer a old fashioned manual myself.
