2012 BMW F30 3-Series - Non-turbo (naturally aspirated) Inline 6?
Will the 2012 3-series sedan be available with a non-turbo inline 6 gas engine? I have read that the normally aspirated inline 6 will not be offered.

The F30 is not expected to be offered with a naturally aspirated I6 engine.

What we are expected to get instead will be the demise of BMW's reign ... costly, sub-par, problematically unreliable turbo charged 6's (search 2011 335i/is HPFP failures), which fail to stand up to more efficient and reliable competitors in the 3 series segment. I believe certain e90's and e46's will hold their values just fine. |

Well, they could start by NOT GROWING the F30 and trying to get some weight out of it. Regardless of what BMW claims on the EPA cycle, I have long maintained that real world mpg will not be much better than the N52. Turbos suck gas when you try to extract any performance out of them. Continually, growing all their models simply exacerbates the gas mileage problem. The 7 series is now huge. Who actually buys one of those to ride anywhere other than the back seat?
