A few pics of the new addition - Mineral Silver/Oyster
Picked her up late last week. Put a coat of wax on this weekend just because I wasn't sure how good the factory/dealership was about waxing before delivery. Also had the front two windows tinted to match the factory tint of the others.

Beautiful - congrats! Mineral Silver is a great color.
Good decision to wax, I doubt the dealership would put that effort/money in.

All depends on your state. In FL there was no inspections so no one really checked. Here in NC you have to get your vehicle inspected annually and there are limits to follow.

In Delaware, you're not allowed any tint on the front windows. Unless of course you have special dispensation.... which it seems they pass out like candy. I think if you are a known criminal who is likely to have guns and drugs in the car you are allowed to get limo tint all around. That way the cops don't have to put down their donuts and chase anyone, because they "didn't see nuthin".

The guy that did the tinting said that this was 35% and that it should match the factory tint in the rear windows. It does seem to match fairly well. As others have already said, the law varies by state. South Carolina law specifies that the tint must allow more than 27% light in so I'm well within the spec for my state. I've seen some pretty dark tint rolling around here (mostly on older cars) so I guess they don't really monitor it that closely but I wouldn't want mine any darker than it already is.

Doooh . . . . looks great! I have the same exterior and have been debating about tinting the front windows. Yours look great. In VA I understand the tint on the front side windows must allow "more than 50%" light in so mine would be lighter. From looking at your pics I'm thinking it would still look okay -- well, at least with your product/color. Can you say what product/line/color that is?
For VA you can only put non-reflective tint above the "AS-1 Line" but it doesn't say anything about transmission limitations. Thinking I'm not doing that. I miss the auto rear shade from my 330i and am thinking about adding some tint to the rear window. That's a great thing about interior shades; while they don't do anything to keep heat or UV out, they impeded interior view without running afoul of local tint laws.
