2011 535xi vancouver help

I'm new to the forum (long time lurker) and am looking to lease a 2011 535xi with both the tech and executive package (still thinking if i need the sport or m package). I'm being offered around $800 a month with 13.5k down for 39 months and 65k km.

Do you guys think this is a good deal?? It's wishful thinking but I'm hoping to spend around 700ish with like 10 or so down.. would you guys know if it were possible to do something like that?

Oh and to those that chose the 535xi, why not the 550xi? prices come up to be about the same..

Also, is there a place where I can get more detailed info on how to do a ED? the guys at auto west bmw were being lazy and didn't seem to want to help me out...

thanks!!!

what's the residual value ? How much the dealer is discounting ? leasing rate ? $800 taxes included ??

Starting point. Always negotiate the $ off from MSRP (incl. any options chosen).

hey! thanks for the reply! it's much appreciated!

the residual i'm being given is at $39,423. he's giving me a discount of $4000 and at a lease rate of 4.9%. taxes are already included in the $811 per month for 39 months.

this was for the carbon black 535xi with tech and executive packages with an msrp of $77,300 before discount. i'm actually thinking of not getting the m sport package anymore, i'm not a fan of the rims and am still iffy on the color, so there's a potential savings of about $3500 right there!

what do you mean by negotiating the $ off from msrp? this will be my second time negotiating for a vehicle and want to do it right! haha

Fair but not good enough discount.

Based on this blog, people are getting around 6.5-7% off MSRP (at least in Toronto). Therefore, you need to go back and ask for ANOTHER $1250 - $1500 to make a good deal. Based on that $77,300 MSRP price, you should now ask for around $5500 off ($5500/$77300 = 7.1% discount off the MSRP)

As for residual, not much you can do because the amount is set by BMW Canada.

Msport - totally comestic only - no performance enhancement to the car. Instead, you should consider getting the DHP - for slightly better handling. My 2 cents.

Thanks again for replying! I went to a different dealer today and am kinda encouraged. The guy basically said that they would match and beat whatever I'm being offered by their competitors.

Yeah, i'm for sure not getting the Msport anymore, saw the carbon black in person today and is not worth the $3500 at all!

what are your thoughts on getting the sport package?

Mine is 550 with Msport package. I personally like it (sportier appearance, rather than the bland look) but did not get the DHP, therefore, I am kinda regretting the decision. Instead, I am looking at the alternative in getting the KW V3 coilovers sometimes this Fall or even next year.

Couple of last minute advices.
1) Dealers like to play with numbers. You have to set a number in your mind as to what you really want to pay.
2) If you are special ordering now, you're now kind of close of getting the end of MY2011 production year, therefore, you are totally justifying to the dealer of asking for 7% (or more) off the MSRP. Production for MY2012 will begin around September 2011 and delivery around October 2011.
