Well the gears would be different, but would it work I am not sure I think it would but the best persom to ask would be Harold at HP Autowerks, he is a vender on this forum.

I think the N54 and N55 are mated to the same transmission, so the diff should have the same final gear. It should be the same.

Auto and manual transmissions use different final drives.

If you are swapping the entire pumpkin you will be changing your final drive gears.

Manual = 3.08
Auto = 3.46

You can have a diff builder remove the diff from housing and have them install it into your housing if you guys both have the same size ring gear.

I added a couple.
I'd love to get my hands on a 3.15!

What model are you getting? Let me know in order to verify if the one that they are selling works?

n55 is not like n54. for n55 you need to cut off a lot of parts, but n54 is directly bolt on.
you need to think about it

Engine family has no bearing on the ring gear needed to be cut off or not. It is more transmission type driven now. Earlier in 2007, production date actually mattered.

N54 is not a direct bolt on for Feb. 2007 and later manual transmission cars. As a matter of fact, LSD is not a bolt-on part in any case. Professional installation and setup is needed for proper function and longevity.
