New guy from Lake Stevens
Just wanted to say hi to everybody in the NW. I recently bought my first BMW and have been loving it since. 2006 330i, manual, black with brushed aluminum interior, prem and sport package. I know it's not in the same league as most of you guys cars (335i's and m's are my dream, a lot of you guys rock some beautiful rides) but I don't care, I love this car. lol I have been a fan of bmw's since I have been a fan of cars and having my first one is awesome.
I am new here, but i am not new to forums in general and I must say this is a great one from what I've seen so far; tons of info, an active local member group, and a LOT of bad ass rides... Hope to meet some of you guys some time. Quick shot of a dirty and wet car to show what we're working with here. It's the best I can do at the moment, been raining every f'ing day since I picked her up a few weeks ago. I did manage to get the windows tinted last week so that's my first mod that has been done. Hopefully by the end of this weekend I'll have the chrome around the windows painted, now that the windows are tinted that shit just stands out way more than before. edit to add: never mind, fixed it Last edited by BMWonderful; 04-13-2011 at 11:32 PM.. Welcome! Always good to hear about a forum memeber living so close (much less new memebers period) and I agree, we should do a meet one of these days, maybe in a covered parking lot if its nasty out??? (RTC perhaps???) Anyways, if you wanna meet some other BMW enthusiasts in the area, every Tuesday there's a meet at the dicks on holman road in seattle, good turn out last time! Hope to see ya around, I live in snohomish and am in lake stevens often :~)

Thanks a lot for the welcome guys. I'll keep an eye out for you Lake Stevens guys when I am out cruising.
I'm not very knowledgeable about bmw's (obviously, first one) but what I can offer the forum right off the bat is my expertise in auto glass. I have been in the (stupid) industry since I got out of highschool, 32 now, and the shop I work for we only do quality jobs. I've seen a few threads on this site where people are talking about taking there cars Safelite... That makes my skin crawl thinking about those monkeys touching the cars that are as pretty as ours. My shop that I work for (small shop, three main techs) does the glass work at a few of the body shops I have seen you guys mention as being quality shops to trust. We aren't scared of cars like Maybach's and Bentley's, I personaly have worked on two bentlys in the last year. Not to say that that is the end all be all of the argument, but there are some real hacks in this industry that shouldn't be trusted in the same room as one of these cars. Be careful who you guys trust to work on your car, something as simple sounding as glass work is actually way more technical than most people think and the wrong shop can lead to much frustration. I'm not trying to sell you guys on my shop, as a matter of fact I would rather not do it since I don't see anything out of it ($$$ wise I mean )... But if you guys have any questions please ask. I can steer you in the right direction, tell you if something some one else did was "normal", tell you what to watch for while they are doing the job, etc etc etc... Oh, and let me say one more time...I love this f'ing car. |
