Is this your first ticket? What was the speed limit and how fast were you going?

Go to court and ask for traffic school! It will be easy to get since it's your first ticket. Depending on who gave you the ticket (trooper, local city, etc) you may have to pay the fine, or just court fees and the cost of traffic school. There are many online for around $40.

You'll have to pay, but it'll keep it off your insurance and that's the biggest deal. Whatever you do, don't just pay the fine and not go to court to save the time! Thats what the traffic court system counts on to keep the revenue flowing.

Actually I got a ticket one week ago on I-405.

The ticket says 75 in a 60.

The officer was a real asshole. First thing he says: "bet you didn't think I'd catch up to you"

He said he was exiting the highway and I went flying past him....going to fight it.

I've had several tickets before, I know this lawyer that you pretty much just pay $50 more than the ticket for and he'll get it off your record.

He'd probably charge more on this. It's a criminal charge (no monetary fine) instead of an infraction.

You definitely want a lawyer for that..

I know two friends who got reckless driving (racing) driving back down from Canada. One got an attorney, and the other didn't. Both of them have had a couple speeding tickets and an accident on record. The one that didnt get an attorney got fined and got his license suspended (couple months) and he got kicked off his insurance company. The one that got an attorney got fined and got his license suspended for 30 days and is still insured with the same company. Both of their insurance is high as fuck.

Either way, lawyer or no lawyer there's a chance of it going on the record, but at this point you want to do everything to prevent that.

I highly recommend an attorney. Barbara Bowden has saved my life numerous times. Google her....

Either way, being it is your first ticket your lawyer can ask to defer the infraction to a reckless endangerment rather then reckless driving (which would then be a non traffic violation) and then get it defered for two years. If you don't get another ticket of 15mph over the limit or worse then the ticket will drop off your record after the two years. This can be done once every 7 years. Just so you know.

whether you hire lawyer or not, i would still contact lawyer and retract some legal advise from them. if it is your first traffic violation ever, i believe you can use "deferral" on it which you can use every 7 year or something and get away with it. basically it'll put you on their "watch list" (or probation however you call it) for a year or so and if you be a good boy for that time, your tiecket will be removed.

or you can hire lawyer and either fight or negotiate the terms with prosecutor to non-traffic moving violation.

i'm not sure the ticket you get is considered minor misdemeanor (traffic ticket) or something bigger. try contact few lawyers.

i use this guy name dax jones. pretty good for the price. never let me down. worst i got was moved down from speeding to non-moving ticket like seatbelt so it won't affect my insurance rate but usually get it dismissed.

good luck!

This can't be deferred, it's not an infraction. Racing/reckless driving is a criminal charge.

Do people call you that at work when you hand in your TPS reports? What a jerk...he did his job,,,so Im gonna sue him....Just sayin...

Dont push the pedal if you cant afford the fine, and dont be a hypocrite if you choose to fight it,,never ever again complain when someone does something wrong in your eyes...maybe they are also "playing with their brother"
