Unhappy smashed by ice - new hood or fixable?

car is from 2006 so nearing 5 years old. I wonder if the insurer will say repair, not replace. What you guys reckon? Mainly hood, but some scratches were on bumper too.

from what i remember the hood is aluminum and very hard to fix if even fixable. likely the only way is to replace it.

i could be wrong though.

well thats what i thought too - aluminum, can't fix easily, etc. But i heard also that unless car is on warranty, insurer will want to save money and ask for repair.... i'll see if my bumper was scratched by this accident too - if it was, might as well go for the msport or LCI version. :S

for the Vorsteiner suggestion - yeah mate, in current shape on winter 16s and with halogens it will look just right, lol.

Call Dent wizard or Paintless dent remover they can pull that out for about $125-$150.00 if paint is un damaged. If you cant find there # stop into your BMW dealer they work for them. Good luck.
