Attn Diesel Owner's - Send Dinan an e-mail

I inquired with Dinan today as to whether or not they are developing any tunes for the "d" and this is the response I received...

"Hi Chris,

There are currently no products for for the diesel in development. However due to the amount of customer interest this may change soon.

I have added your name to the list of people wishing to have parts built for this car and if this list grows significantly we will build parts for it.

Thanks,

Brian"

So if you are like me and you are interested in more tuning options for your diesel and a tune that will offer the added comfort of the Dinan/factory warranty send them an inquiry now and get your name added to the "list." If Dinan receives enough interest they will develop a tune for the "d."

Keep in mind Dinan is not affiliated with BMW so if your doing it for the warranty advantage..it no longer exists....IMO better off with a JB tune

Not sure what you mean by all of that... DINAN has never been "affliated" with BMW other than the cooperation between DINAN and BMW NA as it relates to warranty coverage and establishing an authorized dealer network. The warranty coverage on any DINAN tuned vehicle is good for the remainder of the factory warranty period and is provided by DINAN in addition to the manufacturer's warranty.

Per DINAN's website...

Dinan’s comprehensive warranty program, introduced in 1996 with the cooperation of BMW of North America, provides BMW owners with matching coverage to that offered by BMW’s new car warranty, ensuring that Dinan performance enhancements and the BMW they have been installed in are covered for up to 4 years or 50,000 miles. BMW automobiles can now be performance-tuned without the associated concern of negatively affecting the new car warranty coverage, making the idea of enhanced driving fun and excitement appealing to a rapidly growing number of BMW drivers. In addition, Dinan Certified Pre-Owned high performance BMWs are now available through participating Dinan Authorized BMW Dealerships, offering matching warranty coverage to BMW's program.

For more details concerning warranty coverages see link below.

Not holding my breath, but arguably there are more diesels on the road today then there was a year ago, so interest was probably not there, and as a result there were not any other tune options available for the diesel here in the states. To that end, I will likely jump on the JBD in the meantime.

The point is, it's a way to encourage other reputable vendors to jump on the diesel tune band wagon. Having more product choices and thus competition between tuners is a good thing. With rising gas/oil prices I don't see the demand for clean diesel technology going away and to the contrary, I expect to see more consumers here in the US who are looking for a viable, high-end, economical performance car buying more BMW diesels - I did.

Send them an e-mail it won't hurt you.

E-mail response from DINAN in August. Keep contacting them!

Hi Chris,

It is true.

Performance Software for the diesels is in development now along with suspension for the 335d. No ETA yet from engineering.

I would suggest signing up for the DINAN Newsletter as it will have the latest news and product releases. The sign up form is located on the dinancars.com home page on the right hand side.

Thanks!

Brian
