E90 BBK

Finally got them fitted last night. Pic`s are terrible sorry guys not had chance to clean the car as the weathers been so bad
Anyway kit came from Rob at UUC motorwerks, top marks for a great seller
The brakes feel awesome I always felt the E90 brakes were lacking something esp. when braking from very high speeds you could actually feel them starting to go just with one stop coming down an off ramp. These inspire much more confidence and the hotter they get the more they seem to grip.

Nice BBK!

But it looks like the pad doesnt sweep much more than 50% of the rotor surface..I wonder how that will be long term once the rotor wears?

Hi Rich!

Pad swept area is similar to the other major-brand BBKs. Given that the wear depth on the rotor we use is greater than a standard E90 rotor, and that the Hawk Performance Ceramic pads we supply are exceptionally long-lived, and that the entire system is under-stressed compared to the OE brakes... it is not unreasonable to expect the service life ("long term") to exceed the orignal pads/rotors by a margin of 40%-100% or more.

We use virtually identical components on the heavier 5-series, 6-series, and 7-series with likewise excellent results... including a very rare M6 that is a genuine racecar. If they work great on those much bigger cars, they certainly will work fine on a 3-series!

If you look closely you can just see that the swept area is the same as the area with the grooves.

Mikem, how big are they, have you changed all four or just the front?

anymore pics? the rotors just look "odd" in that virgin state...i like the sizing UUC chose, so we have more wheel options.

uuc, can most 17" wheels fit over these? do you have a xdrilled rotor available as well?
