*Just got a leather case for my Keyfob*

Just got it yesterday (shipped from Singapore and took two weeks)! Quality is good. Nothing spectacular but it meets my expectations (and smells great now that I Zaino'd it ). My keyfob fits perfectly. I wish I had this thing eight months ago. I have no idea why BMW doesn't include it as a freebie for every new BMW owner as it looks like this case was made for my key.

Because I have Comfort Access I never really need access to the buttons to begin with so no problems there. I simply grab the case with my key inside and go. And if you don't have CA this case should still work good for you because I can easily figure out which "bump" the different buttons are and the case is thin enough that you can push the buttons from inside. You just have to remember which way the key is facing inside so that you know whether you're hitting the unlock or trunk (or alarm for those of us with it installed, such as myself) button. Also, because I'm very obsessive about cleanliness I usually want to have clean hands before touching my fob. For whatever reasons I don't really mind with the leather case over it so much. It just completes the package in my opinion and adds that final touch of detail. I'd much rather put my fob wraped within this leather case on a table than just my fob by itself. Addtionally, the fob by itself shows what it is pretty obviously. With the leather case around it it's less obvious. Thus you put it on a table and you're going to be less likely to get it stolen. It's not as attention-grabbing this way. And if you want to flaunt it just rotate it out.

Here's where to buy it: http://www.amazon.com/BMW-Leather-Ca...8&s=automotive

Here are a couple pictures:

That's kinda cool but then again it's kinda nerdy like when someone hooks their cell phone to their belt. Guess it takes all kinds though.

Different strokes for different folks I guess. I don't have a keyring and my fob runs solo so I think it works. It looks great, feels great, works great, and is cheap. What more could I ask for?

Dam everyone is kinda hatin on it. I definately agree with you about the FOB gettin dirty. In the past, with car keys especially, after a few months of use dirt starts to collect in places you cant really wash and the key itself starts to look gross and grimey. When i first got the keys for my gs-r they looked really kool with the acura imprint etched into the key and painted red. Then after a while the red started to scratch off and dirt collected in the crevices, although its no big deal, for some reason it just bugged me. Nice find, unfortuanetly for me i dont find it useful since i dont have CA.

Pretty nice and I like it, but isn't it cumbersome to take it off every time you drive?

As stated in the original post, I have Comfort Access. There is no need to take it off or out when I drive. That's the point.

And the hell with all of you guys. I like it and am keeping it and that's that.

bmwexecutive,
I think it looks great... I would even use it without CA...
I don't have a key chain hanging off the fob either. The leather only makes the fob slightly bulkier and to remove it (from the looks of it) all you have to do is unclip the clip and swivel the fob out and stick it in the car.
I would like it more if that clip (of whatever it is called) was magnetic making it easier to clip and take off. It shouldn't be too hard to replace I'm thinking.

Can you remove the fob and open up the leather (flatten it) and take a picture of both sides with a ruler (like they do in crime laps ), I might be able to get a local shop to copy it...

Thanks

that's neat. too bad i also put my house keys on my fob so this would only make the whole thing bulkier.

I like it. I bought one in fact - I have CA too, and my fob is getting destroyed in my pocket with all my change.
