E90 335i with OEM 196 Radial Spokes
Hey,
Although the Winter has been mild I decided to put my 162's with sport tires away for the Winter and put on my Blizzak LM 125s mounted to OEM 18'' Radial Spoke rims. This is my solution to X drive....keep the purity and performance of rear wheel drive but have great Winter traction for those messy days. |

Nice setup. I have Blizzak LM-22's (RFT) on OEM 158's mount for winter.
Still waiting for winter to arrive here in the East. |

Well in Chapel Hill, NC it feels like Spring...but I figure it cannot hold out. I have a 20 minute drive on I40 every day and need to know I can get home should it snow or ice up while I'm at my office.
I put the Winter set up on for those 1 or 2 days a year it gets a little messy in the South. |

IMO, this rim goes with the sedan pretty well, very smart looking.

No..go to BMW Wheels.com...they sell OEM BMW rims for sale prices. Total cash outlay was about $2300. I will get at least 4 or 5 seasons out of the Blizzaks. In NC I only run them December to March...short snow season in the Carolinas.
This really is the only option if you want to stay with real wheel and get the ZSP. Unfortunately, the 162's with sport tires (which I love) will turn driving in even 1 inch of snow into a harrowing /hair raising experience. With the Blizzaks...you would think you had x drive! |

IMHO this is not looking good, it seems the weel insn`t round anymore, or you could say it is not fixed in the middle, but more off centre. Looks odd IMO, not my kind a style thats for shure, I like a more symetric look ....................

Good choice. Wish I could get away with 18" snows, but with the way it snows here and the potholes it creates, 17" are a much safer choice for rim longgevity.
I drove my car home on the ZSP pkg tires with snow still on my neighborhood streets and it was horrible. I could not get up one hill, almost got stuck just turning around and had to take the long way just to get home. |

You guys were right...they were rolling the wrong way. I had them mounted and balanced at Performance BMW in Chapel Hill.
I will let them know! We are expecting a Wintry mix here in Chapel Hill tomorrow so I now have them rolling in the right direction. Thanks for catching that...could be a lifesaver. |
