BMW Reds

Here's a comparison photo of BMW reds (posted in another thread also). Chiaretto is no longer available on the 6 and 7 but is often confused with Barrique and Barbera Red. Barrique Red is discontinued effective March 2007 and replaced with Barbera Red, which will be available on all 3 series models starting March 2007 production.

i know it works for a comparison between very diffrent colors (like the first 3 vs the last) but this series of photos says ABSOLUTLY NOTHING about the first three, they are too close vs the wide range of variance in camera equipment and lighting, meens nothing without referance

same thing for audio BTW

That is kind of the point. Those three colors are very similar which is probably why they are frequently mistaken for each other. I've seen all of these colors in person, both on cars and on color chips - I wore out my poor CA with checking colors against each other when I was trying for find out what Barrique Red would look like. The above is not a bad comparison.

But, your're right. Everybody, the pictures are all scraped together from different sources and are taken by different people with different cameras with different settings. Anyone considering these colors should ABSOLUTELY not use this photo in making up their mind. Happy now?

Sorry, I left off Electric Red because I was trying to show what can be ordered now. I know the Chiaretto has nothing to do with the 3 but in another thread someone had posted a picture of it saying it was Barbera Red so I included it for comparison.

I really like the crimson... Much closer to an Imola Red than Electric Red. ER was a little too orangy for me...

The Maroon colors are not my style... Can BMW make a nice Red Metallic color? I would really like to see Imola Red Metallic if at all possible...

Here are some pics I found of Barbera on a 6 forum. In the 1st two, the Barbera 6 is in the background. It looks like a color that is normally very dark but lights up some in direct sunlight, like Monaco and Deep Green. I'm thinking of ordering a 335 e92 in Barbera and Saddle, once I see one in person.

Barbera Red is an amazing color in person, those pics are great but they dont give it justice...

one of my friends has barbera 645i and that color changes alot, and in each time, it looks more amazing

wow barbera red does look good, I can see it paired up with a black or beige interior to great effect. I think Barrique red is more dynamic though in terms of the range in tones. I've seen a few around my area and I must say I love the color.

that chiaretto red is AWFULL. Ive seen it in person and threw up numerous times. The barbera is pretty nice but a little too much pink in it for my taste. It did look good on a 7 we had on the floor with cream beige.
