N55 Update #2!

Got some more sneak-peak photos to share with you guys!

The first is the N55 control box and fully PnP harness. It's setup for an OEM look and super easy install! Start to finish you're looking at around 15 minutes to install or remove it. The harness is fully modular so as later stages are released in the future you'll just snap any extra connectors needed in to the harness. Second is a N55 beta log. The Stage1 tuning among other things features adjustable boost and in this log its set to +3psi over stock. Which is the default Stage1 level.

If I had a N55, I would wait till both parties comes out with their tunes and not jump the gun and buy the first thing that comes out....

LOL yes, the RPM and TPS plots have been hijacked for other channels. I wonder if the crack detective team can guess what RPM actually represents?

Oh no......not another burger contest.

Last time over on N54tech I was the first to guess right and didn't get a prize at all.

Nice Progress..
Is the green line ignition timing?
Which one one those connects to the CANbus?

Why didn't Terry make the N55 JB3 board the same as the N54 JB3 board? They look almost alike. I know Shiv has mentioned keeping the same N54 Procede and just changing the harness which makes it easier on us consumers which are likely to upgrade to a new engine.

From Terry
"Here is a shot of the N55 Stage 1 board (below) and the JB3 board above. They are based on the same 8-bit 18F2431 processor but with a slightly different implementation. Because of these differences the N54 JB3 and N55 JB3 Stage 1 will not be interchangeable..."

The main physical cost for all these systems is the wiring harness. The boxes, even the advanced ones like your V4 or the upcoming board from BMS, cost less than $80 to make while the harnesses can cost 2x that much or more. So its best to optimize the harness for simplicity and then put any application specific components needed on the board itself. In this case a few extra components are needed so the N55 Stage1 gets it's own board. The Stage2+ will have its own board as well but reuse the same expensive harness. Actually you guys are going to be as impressed with the N55 Stage1 pricing as you are with the performance.

For the "RPM" plot I'll give a hint. The signal is coming from one of the plugs on the wiring harness.

Would I assume that the N55 box doesn't go in the ECU compartment then?

Just thinking 24 months ahead

Really no reason.

I don't expect this to cost that much anyways.

In the empty ECU box is the suggested control box location. In theory it can go in the engine bay if you need a 2 min install but it's not officially supported.
