RENN Spec | Redline Time Attack Photos
A bit late to be posting these up, but we finally got a chance to organize the pictures from Redline Time Attack. This year we brought out one e46 M3 & one e89 Z4M, both competed in street class RWD at Buttonwillow Raceway.
The Result: 2008 e89 Z4 M Coupe: 02:02.273 (7th place) 2001 e46 M3 Coupe: 02:04.558 (11th place) The event was a blast! I was glad to see many BMWs out on the track in this year's time attack. We gave it our best shot regardless competing against the 1 series which had better power-to-weight ratio than the e46 M3 and Z4 M Coupe, as well as the super light weight high-revving Honda S2000. We ran into a few issues with wheels warping and passing tech inspection at the beginning; but were able to enter the final race when the motor and tires were in their optimum condition. Overall we are satisfied with the result, but we will be improving on the aerodynamic components and spending more time on suspension tuning for better corner speed. The brakes on both cars are excellent with little to no fade and with great modulation See you guys next year and come out to the track and enjoy the track with us! Special Thanks go out to: All RENN Spec Crew for working hours after hours on prepping both cars to make the cars out on the track. All RENN Spec friends and families who came to the event and supported us for the weekend, and this includes bringing the set of extra wheels to Buttonwillow to save the day! Our Drivers: Terry & Toan. You guys did an awesome job! Brembo North America / Race Technologies for getting the Type III rotors for both cars in such a quick turnaround time. KW Automotive for their excellent coil-over setup (Clubsport) for the Z4M. Vorsteiner Tecknic Mackin Industries / Volk Racing for track proven light weight forged wheels.. Auto Tecknic for being a sponsor and assistance as a pit member. ESS Tuning Evasive Motorsports Chao Design Enjoy the pictures!
