I'm looking to change my current sport steering wheel with the paddles on my 335 e92 to a nicer meatier one.

We have the

M-Sport

Which looks good but costs $200 more on Tischer for the paddle version compared to the none paddle one...anyone know why?

Performance(None-electronic)

Looks cool except for the middle stripe. Anyone has one? Any comments on it?

M3-Tri stitched

Does this require new paddles to retrofit?

I'd go with the Mtech or M3 tri-stiched one. The Performance one feels great, but that alcantara material just isn't made to last, unless you're wearing driving gloves. I'd considered that one too, but from what other members told me about how it wears poorly, I went with the Mtech one.

Whichever one your choose, they all feel so much better than the "thin" and "plastic" feeling stock sprt steering wheel.

For the M3 wheel, you need the DCT paddles which cost $$$$$$$$$.
Some people have reused their sport paddles and fit them on the M3 wheel...........the cutout for paddles is smaller than the sport paddles so you need to force them in there.

I've had both on my car and ended up keeping the perforated M Tech one, just looks better imho.

So the Alcantara Performance wheel is out.
I'd love to get the M3 but at >$300 per M3 DCT paddle!!! Ouch.

Are those mtechs sold at BMW Steering wheels.com OEM or are they just padded and restiched sports steering wheels?

i vote M3, ive had the m-tech, and felt teh performance (non electronic). I went back to the M3 in the end... I love it! wouldnt trade it for anything!

How tough is it to fit standard paddles onto an M3 wheel?
