Range of your M3

Hi chaps,

Looking at some old threads, I work out that the range of the car is approx 277 miles

My soon to be gone Z4 isnt great at approx 320 miles but its not meant to cover long trips so I just kind of put up with it.

Now I dont really care about the car's MPG and as well I shouldn't for its an M3, not a TDi! However, I could find it a bit of faff on extended journeys?

Do you all wish that BM gave it a bigger tank?
Hope you all would be kind enough to share / start a poll on how many miles you cover before pull out your petrol loyaly card

Thanks in advance!

I don't want a bigger tank they're 1000zz of gas station around me that I can pick from. I get around 200 on my tank. I rather have performance and not more weight.

200 - 230 or so... I ABSOLUTELY wish I had a bigger tank.

I just drove from Los Angeles to San Francisco yesterday (350 miles), starting off w/ half a tank. I had to fill up the tank twice! All the cars I passed while driving would pass me again while I was sitting around at the gas station.

My G35 coupe could do the entire trip in less than 1 tank (better gas mileage & 20 gallon tank), so even if I started with less than a full tank, the I'd only have to stop once, at the most.

I get 24/26 MPG per Tank, I think thats great, 80/90 MPH motorways when safe, NO short journeys less than 10 miles.

I usually get around 200-230 miles to the tank at best.

No mate not yet, It must be my "No short journeys" that does it and of course M-DCT.
I did two 44 mile runs yesterday and it did 25.4MPG!! still not going above 7000RPM mainly though, scares the wife sh*tless.
I am thinking Acrapovic and stage 3, going to speak to the dealership on warranty though, they are a good bunch.
Just wondered what the 19" Double spokes would look like with the Polished spokes left on and the wheels painted "Black Metallic". Any thoughts.

Jon

Speak to Mikey, he was selling his set up, if you are lucky he still may have it (x-pipe & HFC)

You may be looking at stage 2 mate, think you'll need to go a bit further for stage 3?

if you are getting such a high MPG then you should have bought a diesel as there is no way you can be having any fun with the car! I can't get the dial above 17MPG.

yup some do but I've found the opposite from John. I have found the best fuel is Insainsburies 97RON compared to Vpower and Tesco99.
