Brake Upgrade

Hi All

Looking for opinions on brake upgrades, any thoughts or recommendations?

I know S99ane has gone for the Performance Friction ZF carbon metallic pads (thanks for the info), but has anyone got the PAGID Racing Brake pads (RS19 in yellow), or the BMW performance ones?

Any feedback would be great?

Marcus

It depends on what sort of driving you do? Will you be doing a lot of track days etc? The Pagid yellows for example, make noise before they get up to temp and are really a track day pad. They do make a pad for the road though and coupled with stainless hoses and Dot 5.1 fluid is a big improvement over standard and is more than adequate for the road and the odd track day.

If you plan on spending a fair amount of time on track go with AP. They have been well tested by Thorney Motorsport and BMSport. Much better value for money than Brembo bling. I believe AP is a British company too.

Hi all,
As Marcus said I have opted for the PF pads.
I mostly do fast road with the odd track day and the M3 is my DD.
I looked at the AP and due to the squealy nature of these when cold I decided against them.
The PF I fitted have been a marked improvement over the BMW Tarrox pads fitted as standard.
A few thinks I considered were cost, wear rate, and wear to discs as well as feel and performace day to day.

So far Im more than happy with this product. Only issue is availability in the UK. PF UK did not have any before Xmas so I went through a retailer in the US.

Feel free to PM me is you would like some more info.

Cheers guys

Shane

Hi Hayzi,

I cant really do much of a comparison to standard as its been over a year between driving a standard car and purchasing my car which had the tune done before I picked her up.

I also Had DMS on my 996 Turbo and on that car it was a world apart from standard although turbo'd cars do take a remap better than non-T.

Will see if I can get a joyride in a standard car and give better feedback
