Meet the new baby: Tasman Green 335d
I just picked up my new 335d a few days ago. It meets or exceeds my expectations in every way after the first few days of driving. Tasman Green seems to be a relatively rare color choice, so I thought I'd post a few pics. This color is very subtle, but it really comes alive in late afternoon when the sun is lower on the horizon.
EDIT: Added some more pics, including some interior shots. Interior differences I've noticed from '09 to '10 models: 1) no ashtray/lighter in the console, just a tray; 2) power outlet is now in the passenger seat footwell, below and to the left of the glove box; 3) buttons for heated seats have been moved into the panel with all the other climate controls (the lower panel is now empty, unless you have PDC, HDC, or sun blind); 4) the cabin temperature sensor in the climate control panel is now a little convex barrel that protrudes a bit from the dash (this was previously behind a small vent, if I recall correctly); 5) central lock/unlock button moved up between the vents, next to DTC and hazard button

Looks fantastic. Really nice contrast with saddle. Any interior pics?

I tried to get some interior pics, but it was getting too dark. I'll try to add some later today.

Great looking car! I look forward to seeing the interior. Also glad to see you tried the diesel. They seem to make a lot of sense, but we won't see more of them unless people actually buy them here.
Interesting... Looks like they changed the wipers for MY10? I do have to say I don't care for the location of the front plate. The car looks too classy for the strangely-located front plate. I can understand not drilling for the bracket if you want to run without it for a cleaner look (been there, done that), but not if it means having to mount the license plate in an awkward spot, instead. To each his (or her) own, but I think I'd go this route to avoid visible screw holes instead, personally. Congrats on a nice car though! |

I didn't think that I would ever like the color green on a car....but that green actually looks very nice. Congrats and enjoy your baby.

TG would have been my next choice if I decided to pretend to be more sophisticated.
Looks great, even the nonsport wheels look better than I thought they would. |

Congrats and Welcome to Club D
I've never been a fan of green cars but this green may change my mind.

No, sadly the only diesel 3 series sold in North America is the E90 335d. Personally I think BMW would clean up with the 320d, and it would do a better job of making the diesel argument work in the US. Similarly, here in Canada my feeling is that diesel wagons would do pretty well.

The 335d e90 and an X5 xDrive35d are the only diesel BMW passenger vehicles I know of sold in the US. This engine would really go well with an e91ix but that just isn't going to happen here in the US. The X1 looks promising, but in the US I think it will be only available in a 4 cylinder diesel, the 23d version.

You know, that is just about the exact color combo I've been considering for when I switch to a new BMW. Of course, by then, they may have dropped that color. I hope not, it looks great!

I saw one in that colour combination when I ordered mw '09 328. It was gorgeous and I would have bought it from the showroom floor but I didn't want an xi. I checked to see if there was a Tasman Green 328i at another dealer or coming in on the boat but no luck. Hopefully for my next 3 series. Enjoy your new wheels.
