Devon Hill BMW (Devon, PA)
Didn't purchase my 325i through them, but found their service reps to be rude, unhelpful, and slow. I had just relocated to PA from CA and had some issues with my passenger window side molding so I took it to them in early July to get fixed. It took them 2 months to finally get the RIGHT part in and then to fix it!!! For the price we pay for these cars I would expect a little more from the service department. My suggestion, go to Otto’s BMW of West Chester.

hmmm, i havn't had a problem with them as of yet, when we bought a VW from them back when they did have a VW dealership, the service was GREAT! Which ever dealer gives me a good deal is the place i'm going to, you can take it to any other BMW service after that...

Your experience at Devon Hill surprises me, I've been going to them for service since 2001. Everything has always been great, infact they even would wash my '01 325 from time to time, which seems to be unusual if you didnt buy from them.
I did find the Sales dept. there to be a joke. When I was buying my '06, they totally wasted my time, and werent willing to work the numbers. Ended up buying from my previous dealer, West German Motors.

see that's another thing, at wester chester bmw and several bmw dealers in southern cali (where i moved from), they ALWAYS washed my car after any service. Now I'm not saying they have to wash it, but when I had my window worked on they didn't even bother cleaning the window or the door. No offense to those fans of Devon Hill, hopefully my experience there has been an exception.

Well i've seen that Devon isn't really good with numbers, (still have to get a quote for a 335i now ) If it comes to that, i always have Ottos and West German...Especially i heard WG has really good service! and deals..

yeah, they're getting there slowly though, i didn't even know they were doing construction since i thought they just kept the old VW builing right next to it. But yeah, they REALLY need to finish it, just makes the dealership look bad.

Question for fellow guys who have used Devon Hill for service. Did you ever get a loaner from them? If so was it a BMW?
Reason I ask is because I took my car in today for something and was given a loaner, but it was from Enterprise, it wasnt a BMW, but was still free. Was wondering if this was because I bought somewhere else.

I think that they do give BMW loaners, i'im not sure though, but for a higher end dealerships they do give you a loaner which isn't a Ford Focus (like VW dealerships do )

No, they were probably just out of BMW's for loaner. First come, first serve. I did not buy at Devon Hill and have had a BMW loaner twice and Enterprise Saab once.

The dealership only has so many loaners..People who schedule in advance, receive BMW's as long as those BMW's come back in time, the rest are put into loaner cars from Enterprise. So when you stop by with a problem, chances are you get a rental, but if you schedule your 15k check up, you have a good shot at getting a BMW. REMEMBER one thing.....They really want you in a BMW, because when you take a new one home, it starts the " I want a new one" process.

heh
Kinda a side note but the Mercedes-Benz dealership across from Otto's BMW looks extremely classy, not that I'd buy a M-B. I just really like the look of it. That is all continue on with your current conversation.

haha, love that Devon Hill horse, too bad we didn't get it on the Jetta that we bought from them. But a nice symbol, i see it on alot of VW's and BMW's around this area.
As for the MSRP for that car, it will just be Manual w/ Sports pkg. Simply just like that. |

I know what the price of the car is,as you know....I was trying to get him to say the M.S.R.P of the car, because that would then mean he knew the price of the car. We have a certain amount of cars to sell.... and every other person who walks in this dealership is wanting that car. Let all remember that we are a place of business. and I owe it to myself as well as my owner to sell the car for what it's worth. Remember, I do not get paid unless I sell a car, and to boot I only have a little room to work... Jack those numbers reflect last years invoice difference, in 2007, BMW cut the percentage again. I guess I am still fighting the whole $500 over invoice thing.....I hate those calls. I am also confident that you will not find W.G, Ottos, Union Park, Mainline, or any of those places giving that number. I use to work at one of those places.....and before my switch I did check out some of the others. I know what they do and don't do. Good luck finding a dealership in the tri-state area who will sell it to you for $500 over. |
