Will this wheel and tire setup work?

18x10,Offset: 25mm, Backspacing: 6.45", Bolt Pattern: 5-120
Weight: 20.5lbs.

Just curious why TTR isn't showing this wheel for the E92 M3?
It looks like those wheels should work,right? It's listed for the E46 M3 on their website.
And for tires I'll have 275's front,295's rear on the 18X10's Enkei NT03-M's.

And some pics of the wheel in question (first pic on the E46 M3 parked next to masmole's M3).

The Pic of the white E92 are D Force LTW's 9.5 all around I believe. That is a members car here on the board. I brought the same wheel in 18x10's all around. They are one of the lightest at a very good price. Plus everyone was buying the TR's from Tire rack. The only downfall is I have to run 18mm spacers all around with 275/35 tires. Its a very aggressive setup.

m3larson, looks like you are indeed towing your car in a closed trailer with the X5. How is that working out? How much does the trailer weigh? I am about to pull the trigger and buy a tow vehicle, and could use your feedback...

It took me a while to figure this configuration out and did a couple short distance run's with the trailer and M. After those successes I drove this 600 miles and climbed many steep inclines coming out of California.

The X5 may not be the ultimate tow vehicle but it did very well cruising at 80mph in 100+ degree weather. The downside was 8MPG!!!

I use the x5 for work so I already had it and did not purchases it for towing. However the trailer is 24 feet and about 2200LBS. With the M3 in it I was at the max towing limit 6000LBS. The X5 is the 4.8I and I am always impressed with it on the road. Comfortable, fast and rock solid. Towing 6,000pounds was a little challenging however did it very well and we were very comfortable in it. Plus got a lot of thumbs up at the track.

I am very curious to see the new X5 diesel in this position. I'm thinking better gas millage and of course more torque is a given.

One thing I give BMW credit on is the air suspension. When I loaded the M3 in the trailer the back end sank on the X5. Within a couple minutes the rear end had lifted back up. This can be bad and good. I bet I donated to more wear and tear on the rear air suspension however the good is it didn't sag. There was a LX Lexus next to me that after there Z4 was in the trailer the rear of the lexus was rubbing on the tires. And he had to supercharge it.

A diesel truck is always the best bet but however if you going to sink $75k into something may as well be something you can enjoy without a trailer.
I have put 30,000 miles on this X5 in a year and a half and has been the best road trip SUV I have owned.

Also the Porsche GTS SUV can haul 7,000lbs and does a very good job at it.

Thanks m3larson. I am torn between buying a F150 or an SUV (X5 or Escalade). I know the truck will do a much better job, but I want to use the SUV as a winter DD. Escalade would do better than X5, but I like the X5 more obviously...

OP, sorry for the off-topic exchange. The offsets and widths of the enkei wheels look fine. I would call up tirerack and ask why they are not recommending them for the E9X M3. I wonder if it has something to do with the weight of the car. Or maybe Tirerack does not feel comfortable pushing a 18X10" square setup since there is a chance the fronts might rub with certain tires.

18x10 25mm all around is the best bet here, I'm not a big fan of running spacers and I also like to use non directional tires so I could switch sides as I please

A 295 tire seems a little on the big side, depending on what size sidewall you go with all around, I think it will rub

LTW wheel makes 9.5 and will require a spacer unless you special order. The 18x10 model is in the wrong sized offset
