track set up
any opinions on the best lightweight, inexpesive, wheels for track use? Looking for matte black if that matters.

http://www.tirerack.com/wheels/Wheel...All&sort=Brand If you want to pay more like $500/wheel, I would consider the Advan RS wheels. You can get them in 18x9.5 ET 25. They should be stronger than the TRMotorsport wheel. http://www.vividracing.com/catalog/a...0-p-52391.html

thanks lucid. think i may go with the tr motorsports in the 18x9.5 square set up like you said. See how my first track day goes on ps2's first. What do you think then for tire. You like the bf R1 correct. what size would i go with then for those?

Yes, the BFG R1s worked really well. Plus they are not as expensive as the Hoosiers. Sayemthree is running them as well. I suspect he has 265s all around on 9.5" wheels. Check with him on that. If you are new to the track, you might want to hold off on a track setup until you get more experience to decide what might be right for you.

Running NT-01s on 18x9.5ET35 (with 10/12mm spacers) TR MT1s. Fits fine. MT1s bend pretty easily. I've bent 2 just from running up on curbs.
Camber is going to be a big issue on tire wear in the front. I would not recommend hoosiers, you are going to trash them in 20 minutes if you can drive. R1s may be more durable on the outside edges than R6s. |
