What's the hardest someone has launched their XI?
Looking to get some feedback for straight line acceleration and how hard someone has gone on the RPM range for 1/4mile launch? 3k-3.5k-4k?
Right now, holding the rev-band around 2500-2600RPM in M1 (yes I'm AT) provides a severely good kick on the launch with no traction-loss when practicing launches. Most of my 60ft times are between 1.87-1.94 on regular General UHP tires. I know that time could be better but I don't know if just launching harder would do this or just getting a set of DRs. |

I've sent her off at about 3500 rpms before with DTC on. Felt a little chirp but she did well... I broke the 6 sec mark 0-60 according to my G-Timer... which I think is pretty damn good for a heavier/slower 328xi sedan.

no track times but I have done 5k - 5.5k clutch drops in the car. Will spin the front tires for a second and take right off. Manual trans car, clutch doesn't feel quite right afterwards though.
Drag radials are not going to help xi's much they don't make enough power to make 4 drag radials worth the money.

Yea I just noticed that the hard way - I was wondering why I couldn't peg the needle past 2500-2600rpm when trying to brake-torque somewhere in the 3-4k range.
I wonder if it's that way to limit transmission impact of some arbitrary number BMW put like what they did to non-euro M5's to limit launch control? |

I've run mine at the strip a few times. Best launch was at 4000-4500 RPM, all stability controls/traction controls turned off, feather the clutch to maintain revs while hammering the throttle. I can't find my slips anymore, but I ran a 12.8 (near sea level) on a cool night. 19" rims w/ general UHP's, SSTT.
It's absolute hell on the clutch. I don't recommend doing this more than once or twice unless you are just dying to replace the clutch.
