Who's driving their 1er in Boston area tomorrow?
I will have to brave the predicted heavy snowfall tomorrow morning for my 20 mile commute. I took my 128i out today and found a few spots with an inch or so of snow and the car was great. I really had to floor it to get the rear end to step out. The Blizzak WS-60's certainly felt very solid. Anyone else planning to drive their 1er tomorrow AM?

ill be driving on LI and were sopposed to get somewhere between 8 n 14 inches. It should be no problem i've driven on my Pirelli 240 Sottozeros a few times in the snow now. And they make it difficult to break the back of a 135i loose.

I'll be out there driving on my stock tires. Just gotta leave space between other cars, drive the speed limit.
Everyone stay safe out there, don't trust your super snow tires more than you should. Being late by 5 minutes is not worth any scratch, or worse. - LittleVik |

I grew up in NE. It isn't dangerous AT ALL. I have no problems. I don't drive 100 mph and I don't tailgate other cars (when there is snow, ha).
Only thing dangerous about not having snow tires is that if I get stuck, it can be hard to get unstuck. Once I get going, traction is fine, I expect car to slip and not stop right away, and drive accordingly. |

I can't even fathom driving in snow with Bridgestone RE-050's. I did it once with my daily driver, and the very next day, I bought Blizzak WS-60's. (And I swear, those WS-60's are invincible).
That said, I chose to work from home today and not drive anything. :-)

Maybe the other parked cars and telephone poles will keep your car from sliding off the road.

My flight to Denver this morning was one of the few out of Logan that wasn't cancelled or delayed. Car service to the airport so I didn't have to wake Orca. But my landlord did later when he cleared all the snow. Hope everyone back home continues to drive safely. I'll raise a toast to you all tonight when I get to San Diego.

Made trip to gym and supermarket, no problems. I did slide around some corners in the center of town, but only for my personal amusement. Scariest part was where I got stuck at a red light and had a hard time getting going when it turned green. But I made it. Also did some figure 8s and slides in parking lot of the local Shaws. A soccer mom in an X5 gave me the thumbs up approval.
Oh, I bought some oranges too, not sure if that relevant tho. - Vik |

I made it through the commute too! When I got to work, I was a bit disappointed with the WS-60's directional stability on the highway but looking back, there was really a lot of the white stuff on I-95. Traction control triangle light barely came on. I did almost get stuck getting out of my parking spot in some really deep snow but other than that there was no problem. I must say I was a little envious of my wife's Subaru - the car didn't even notice there was snow on the ground.
