Recs for nice drive to Greenville, please

We're doing a Father-Son run in the son's Z4 3.0Si from Jacksonville, FL up to BMW's PDC for the 2-day M School they offer there. Weather depending, we'd like to do some of the run - up or back - on some picturesque back roads with the top down. We thought some of you might have some candidates and welcome any suggestions that will get us off I-95 and I-26 and into some beautiful country. Ideally, they would be decent roads that serve as a 'hypotenuse' of sorts across those two interstates.

Wish I could help, when I drove to/from the Performance Center I was on a time crunch so I just stuck to the interstates.
