BMW CCA autox SF Bay Area - Aug 23

Time to get the word out to the 1addicts community about the BMW Golden Gate Chapter August autocross.

Coming out to the GGC autox is a fun way to spend the day. Explore the limits of your car in a safe environment and meet some other BMW nuts. We had 4 135i cars in July and they did very well. Time to come out and see what your car can do!

Here is a good overview put together by my autox coordinator partner Kris:
http://www.bmwautocross.com/

Our next autox is Sat Aug 23 at Marina Airport. Regsitration opened today (July 21) and is already at 1/3 capacity so regsiter soon before it is sold out.

Come out and have some fun. I will have my stock 135i convertible out again for its 2nd autox. :roundel:

Drive like champions!

-Matt

That looks like Kris L's car smokin' 'em up at the top of the page! Does he still have the ZHP?

Yes he does! He recently put in a lower gear diff (3.46 but still an open diff). So now he is smoking that wheel even more.

Awesome. We need pics of needlessly wasting race rubber.

When you see him, I said "Hi". I'm you guys counterpart from the Boston Chapter. We go back to early days of bimmerfest and bimmer.org.

If you like tire smoke, then you should watch this 335 go around. He is on V710 and he (and his co-driver) smoked (and corded) the rear tire so much by the 3rd run that they had to put on one a street tire to be able to finish all the runs. Love the 1 silver and 1 black wheel.

How often do these happen? I only have about 480 miles on my 135 right now so I doubt it will be ready for some high reving fun by then. It sounds like a total blast, though!

Jeff, take a look at your Chapter's Event Calendar. There's usually lots of events to choose from. It looks like the GG Chapter has an autocross each month through October.

You could always take on the "challenge" of doing 600 miles in the next 3 weeks. That actually sounds like one helluva fun challenge.
