My dealer is giving me a free tint so I wanted to know who else is getting a tint.

I plan on getting mine tinted ASAP. It looks so much cooler with a dark tint.

My car came in yesterday, picking it up saturday getting tinted friday before I even pick it up. Getting 15% all around with that sunstrip thing in the front. Not free but not sure how much im paying yet. If its free go for it. Tints make all cars look sexier!

They charged me $150 (regular price is 280) and I am getting 35% all around. It is non-metallic, other than that they couldn't tell me whether it is ceramic or not.

I didn't think about that. Does it really reduce the vision at night? BTW I don't wear sunglasses at night either.

How about the sun protection you get from it. Does it play a factor in your decision?

If you go 25% or darker it can start to get iffy...Limo's use 10%. A lot of people go down to 20% - Sit in a car with different shades before you buy.

I have 30% and love it....Not to dark, but dark enough where you know people cannot stare ect..I also do not feel I can see any worse at night with 30% than none.

How does tint age? Does it stay like new over a long period of time? Sorry, I dont know anything about tint.

But I just spent 4 months in Thailand for work and all the vehicles there are tinted for obvious reasons. Also, no sunroofs there.

NJ law sucks so I am still debating if I shld get the whole car tinted and deal with getting pulled over every now and then or just getting the "legal" tint... which means none on the front side windows...I think it looks stupid with only the rear and rear sides tinted... I also have to factor in the fact that I will be going with no front plate either which is a no no in NJ as well...

For sure when I get my 135i Id get it tinted but not at the dealership as they only tint the legal 35% here and thats to light for me. I had that on my other car. So ill go outside to get my car tinted maybe 25%.

I was going to get tint, but after reading about potential problems with comfort access, I'm not so sure now. Keeping an eye on this thread:

Same in IL. I hate no tint on the front side windows, looks BAD IMO. I might get 50% on all the side windows and 35% on the back. Cops don't bother people with very light tint here. I see tinted windows all over, its just a roll of the dice in IL. Some get tickets all the time, others are lucky and never do.

I think most of the tint used today ages very well and thus comes with a lifetime warranty (mine did).

I wasn't offered tint, but I haven't picked my car up yet. Additionally, I'd like to know what kind of tint theyre utilizing and who the tinter is. I would turn it down if I felt uneasy about the quality of material and the applicator. I do plan on getting tint from a reputable shop here in SoCal after I pick my car up though
