Juice Box Stage 1 (JB1) $99 special!

Hey guys,

With Bimmerfest right around the corner we've got a very exciting promotion that I can't keep under wraps any longer.

We're bringing back our $99 JB1 special!

For those not familiar the Stage 1 offers 1.5-2psi and smooth 20-30rwhp gains. Although our JB2 tune outsells it 6:1, those that go with the JB1 always report very noticeable improvements in power and really enjoy the drivability. There is no better first mod.

Installation is easier than the Stage 2 as you do not need to touch vacuum lines, and only need to remove one ECU connector. For a first timer expect 20 minutes, and we can install them in under 10. Almost faster than we can remove the factory airbox. Every JB1 also comes with our industry leading email and phone support. I should also note as of right now it appears our JB1 will be compatible with the March 2008 DME changes.

Many who install the JB1 find it’s the perfect amount of power and never want more, but for those that get the horsepower itch you can trade the tuner in at a later date for full purchase price credit towards our Stage 2 tune.

And those of you who purchased the JB1 in the past month at our normal $179 price, I am not going to leave you in the cold. You can apply $79 extra towards a JB2 upgrade.

Great deal, very nice to include previous purchasers. 20-30whp gains on other cars on 1 mod is almost unheard of. But for $100? Great deal.. had to say it twice

Let us know as soon as possible if the JB1 truly isn't affected by the new software update. My car is just finishing production now, so this will be a concern for me.

Thanks.

According to N54Tech, it is a hardware change that occurred in March and doesn't affect prior builds. You can check your ECU; if it is v80 you are OK, if it v81 you are affected. There is also some info going around that it may only be happening on European models and that the JB1 and SSTT might not be affected.

If you are going to go through the trouble of taking your car apart to get the ECU and counting pins.

You might as well get the JB2.

where would the v80 dme label be located? inside the drivers door or in the engine somewhere? if not on the door, where *exactly*?

Thanks

They say that is written on the top of the ECU.

You cannot get at the ECU without about 15-30 minutes of disassembly/reassembly.

15-30 minutes of work is hardly troublesome for 20-30whp in $100 imo... My 1er has a build date of 3/19

I'm usually not one to mod a car for reliability reasons but I like the reasonable cost and restrained nature of the jb1 compared to other mods, but before I buy I have a few questions:

1. Do you reduce the turbo speed at high rpm? I've heard the small turbos have a hard time coping with the high speeds.
2. Do you see an increase in long term reliability with the jb1 over the jb2, vishnu, or dinan flashes? I might have the car at 90 or even 100,000 miles.
3. Can you remove it and leave no indication the car was modded?

Thanks!
