Paging Gill - Looking for Help
OK on the tire rack the TRMotorsport MT1 wheel comes in 17X8.5 44mm offset and there is also the same wheel in 18X8.5 44mm offset. now my question is why is the 18 not shown for the 135i? same width same offset just different diameter. if the 17 fits the 18 should also. :iono:

Here's his feedback: "Bad news! The TRMotorsports 18x8.5 et44 wheel mounted with 245x35 'Stone RE760s do NOT make a happy fitment in the front of a 135i. The wheel will spin but there is less than 1mm clearance on the strut and steering arm. Spacer use is not a solution because the wheel and tire already extends outside the front fender. It must be said that I did not test drive the car or have photos of the fitment. But from my experience, this was not a workable street wheel/tire setup. I did not drive the setup as I want to return it to TireRack un-used and go for a better, to be determined, setup in the front. I'm thinking 18x8 et40-45 and a 225 tire will be about it for street in the front. And, 'gasp', I may have to forego my prejudice against staggered setups and go with a 18x9 rear wheel as I can't bear to drop to 18x8 rear."

thanks a tun gill. HMM I think the 18X8.5 et40 is going to be the setup for me. I'm already running 17X8.5 et38 with 245X40 and there pretty good, no rubbing. I was just at the track yesterday and it seems good. I do have my alignment pins remover for a tiny bit more -camber.

I'd never run anything but a staggered set up.

How is the car feeling on the track with the 17x8.5 setup? What tires are you running? Regarding Gill's comment...I have run 1mm strut clearance before without problems on a MINI. Who knows how the 1 series will take it. I wish they would test fit the Re-01R instead as it probably is the widest Bridgestone street tire.. I think the 40mm offset might be the ticket for the 18x8.5, I guess it comes down to fender clearance. |

I knew that was coming. I staggered my E46 winters but I'm running same size winters on the 1.
