What are my options...
I have the Premium Hi-Fi, but no factory iPod adapter, and want a way to play audio tracks via SD card.
Does the dealer-installed iPod adapter include a USB port for use with a card reader/SD card? The BMW on-line accessory card doesn't seem to say so. Or, is there a device/cable that can plug into the standard, armrest Aux In jack that I can hook a card reader with SD card? If so, what are the drawbacks to this setup? |

You can use the Aux line in from a traditional flash MP3 player for about the same price as a SD card. I think the sound quality is not a good as a digital connection.

The one on the 1 series has an AUX jack and a USB slot. To answer the original question, with some MP3 players, you can get an adapter that has an AUX out Jack. You can also just run it out of the headphone jack, . That fact that it's an analog signal really isn't an issue... all signals become analog at some point in time. |
