In Germany BMW sells entertainment functions for the 1. You can even get live TV broadcasts through the Nav display!

There are audio/video gurus out there that can put DVD and TV on the nav screen and add headrest monitors for the rear passengers. I'm actually considering having that done by a local guy that is one of the best around. Usually, the entertainment on nav screen is supposed to disable when the car is in motion for obvious reasons. If the front passenger wants to watch while the car is being driven, they can install a monitor inside the passenger's visor.
