Dumbest traffic ticket

What's the dumbest traffic ticket you've gotten? I just got pulled over tonight after making a left turn and was told "you accelerated very quickly and went wayyyyyy over the speed limit" after a traffic stop that took about 30 minutes officer comes back gives me a careless driving ticket for "exceeding the speed limit and driving carelessly with other traffic around". Here's the caveat though, officer wasn't running radar. I asked what was my speed? Officer starts stuttering that she didn't have my exact speed, I pressed on a bit more and the result was "I heard you exceed the speed limit" I can't wait to see how that one stands up in court.

If you weren’t cited for a specific speed and just “careless driving” and stated excessive speed, then the visual of other vehicles around you going one speed and your vehicle accelerating then going past them at a higher speed, suggests careless and excessive speed.
The same way that if you don’t squeal your tires but floor it up to the speed limit can be cited for “aggressive driving” or whatever your local PD calls it.
So you can’t be cited for a specific amount over the speed limit but could be cited for the careless.
Not saying you can’t get it taken away In court, just saying it’s not as clear cut as “no radar no ticket”

I heard? I actually laughed at that part because had you been driving an EV she wouldn’t be able to discern the speed by ear.

Sorry you hear you have to burn time stating her baseless case as she doesn’t have a concrete reference to your actual speed at the time of the “infraction”.

In NYC there’s a lot of shit boxes here that sound loud with no speed behind them

I would say you have a 50/50 chance of winning this in court. I would go for it.

Well... it's at night, I'm the only car driving in my direction, didn't squeel tires, didn't exceed the speed limit (45 mph speed limit I let off like a second after shifting into second gear and got the pop pop pop so I know I wasn't going more than 47,48 indicated on speedo). Plus considering this was a minor traffic offense where I only got 1 ticket I probably have a case against them considering the stop took 45 minutes. But I'll see how it pans out in court.

Edit: this state has tickets that are "excessive show of speed" and stuff like that, had she given me something like that I probably wouldn't have a case since sure flooring it to the speed limit is technically showing off how fast my car is, but there's nothing careless about it (since there's no other traffic or anyone for me to endanger, nor is there anything inherently unsafe of me accelerating in a straight line(after I made the turn)
