Mine goes to 640. I assume that car has been coded.

Thanks. Yeah, it is coded. Aside from the power I didnt realize that it also changed this.

I really question the numbers shown sometimes. There are times at light throttle it shows 550lbft. I would think the only way to get max torque is WOT. Or they play tricks with the throttle map to make the car feel faster. I haven't figured out the correlation yet. On a given drive cycle I am in 3 different engine and transmission modes so I haven't figured out the exact combo yet that does that. I need to conduct some tests. Either way I'm pretty sure the throttle on this car is not linear in any mode.

I am not sure WOT is required since torque is kept below its potential by the ECU. Timing or boost is reduced so the programmed maximums are not exceeded. It could be that part throttle with enough load reaches the programmed limit and is simply held there as the throttle goes down further.

That's a good point with a forced induction car and electronic throttle. And now that I think about it for most people throttle position is more a matter of "how fast do you want to end up going" and not "how fast do you want to accelerate". This would also explain why people still can't figure out after years of driving that if you are going uphill you need more throttle

I need to find a time with an empty road to play around with throttle position/engine mode/speed/gear and see what happens.

No matter what the throttle position is, anytime the engine rpm is between 1800-5900 rpm, the engine is producing the maximum torque.

So it would be impossible to drive at 2000 or 3000 or 4000 or 5000 rpm without making a substantial amount of boost? I find that hard to believe but have not paid attention. In my other turbo cars, I can drive without making any boost — under low load conditions like level ground and light throttle — in those rpm ranges. The 4.4L V8 won’t make 550 lbs torque without boost.

That is peak. It does not make that much depending on the throttle position. Frequently I see it read far less. I'm just surprised when it does read max at less than full throttle (fully depressed accelerator pedal. It is an electronic throttle so the pedal position is just a suggestion to the car)

That is pretty cool. Now the tech can more easily and quickly verify that your car is tuned and more efficiently cancel your warranty. But pretty cool just the same.

Tech never bother to touch that button and look at it. They honor Dinan mods as well
