You have to be more specific and put it into categories. Wheels, Supercharging/turbocharging, suspension, BodyKits, etc.....

I'm not going to provide an opinion since I am friends with the Vorshlag guys, but they plan on having AST coil-overs out for the 1 shortly after it arrives. They are big enthusiast and very detailed in how well their stuff works. This includes their highly praised camber plates (feel free to search forums about them). http://www.vorshlag.com

Lorinser!? Dinan?!
I'd say:
- Pick the lightest strongest forged wheels u can find
- Vishnu for tuning
- Find a nice not loud exhaust which would be much lighter than stock exhaust and give you some hp gains and nice sounds
- Body kits - not my cup, but find the one YOU like and go for it..

Lorinser is typically a Mercedes-Benz tuner.

Dinan is overpriced and nothing special at all.

Established BMW tuners are AC Schnitzer, Alpina (the ONLY tuner that BMW allows to touch their cars and still have BMW warranty), Hamann (Germans consider it Euro rice).

As I was trying to find some info on the 335i Dinan car they were very reluctant to say anything so far just an intake and exhaust but im curious if they are going with bigger turbo kit, i dont know if there havin trouble with N54 or is dinan unleashing a beast in the next few months, but it recent years i do agree they have been kinda in the low point in the tuner market. I still remeber when I first saw the Dinan 850i Twin Turbo man that thing was fast but that was almost 10 years ago.

As someone already mentioned, it depends on what your specifically looking for. Personally im a big fan of Active Autowerke. There exhausts are often some of the best IMO, theyre forced induction knowledge and kits are very good. Their computer software for the 335i is very good, i will be installing it on my 135i asap.

Rogue is another good aftermarket company for most stuff.

Look out for the import tuners as they believe that the new 335i and 135i is the next "supra" tuner car. Greedy, apex, and especially HKS are working on software, turbo upgrades, suspension, exhaust, you name it, they are going to produce it.

Found this on wikipedia...

"The 2JZ-GTE was outsourced to German firm Johann A. Krause Maschinenfabrik GmbH to refine and make suitable for use in the Japanese Grand Touring Car Championship "JGTC" which required the motor to be homologated in a production car. The Engine was to power the fourth generation of the Supra sports car. It was based on the 2JZ-GE, but differed in its use of sequential twin turbochargers and the use of an intercooler."

Looks like they've been cross-polinating for years which has lead to some pretty good results

Japanese tuners seem to have a thing for turbocharged inline 6's. Hopefully BMW built theirs as strong as Nissan and Toyota. They'll show us the limits of the N54 if they are dedicated to it.

A buddy races a 240Z and we were at a friends shop prepping several engine blocks while there was a Healy block disassembled waiting for parts (going to a vintage meet at Sebring, IIRC). The Nissan inline six is S-T-O-U-T, the Healy block had only three stinking main bearings and they looked like they were about as wide as a stick of gum. I do believe the Germans are a bit better with the blocks than the English at least. ; -)
