Fresh pics 135 Hatchback...
Hi guys,
I'm not in the market for a 135 or anything but I did come across this 135 hatchback a couple of hours ago on PCH in So.Cal. I thought you'd be interested so here are a few pics I grabbed. |

D'oh! Yes a 135 mule - doubt it's more than that based on the crude cutout for the exhaust. Somebody is playing with a 135i dressed as a schlpermobile.

Fellas, tame your horses. I highly doubt that is a 135i. It be anything really. It could be the diesel, 128i, M1, or a 135i. Or that could be a 1 series hatchback from Mexico for all we know.

You're right oneshots2k.
It could be anything. The body of this 1 series is the pre-facelifted 130i (european) hatchback-model. So it could be a testmule for the 128i/135i, cause the 135i gets the same twin-exhaust as the 128i/130i. |

DST plates = Distributor plates. That could mean either a dealer or the manufacturer - they aren't the California MFG plates which would be manufacturer only. That would probably mean the marketing arm of BMW in the US is the owner of the plate, since a dealer doesn't keep any 1ers in stock. ; -)
BMW services their press fleets out of NJ so they run NJ distributor (or MFG plates - need to go look at a pix of the M5 I had in the driveway a few years ago). This is not some schlub vehicle that someone is ashamed to show the BMW badge on. |

It was following a camoflauged Mini Cooper and being followed by a 3 series wagon, all with mfgr plates. They were headed north on PCH/Hwy 1, no doubt back to BMW's facility in Port Hueneme
