1 Series Rear Seat Size

I'm a newbie here and I was curious if anyone with inside information knows how big the backseat on the new 1 series will be? I mean will it be big enough to fit adults comfortably OR will it be mainly used for small kids, if that. Thanks again for any info and this is a great site!!!

Winding Road (a UK publication) said that there was plenty of room for an adult in back. One of their crew spent time in back and even with the front seat back to the maximum was comfortable. However they didn't provide any specs on the adult.

I compared the known external and internal dimesions of the 135 to my 04 Jetta and they are almost identical. Adults dont really like the back of my Jetta... its bearable if the person up front suffers too and sacrifices alot of room moving up the seat. I imagine the 135 will be just fine for children but will be more difficult getting in and out of since it is only 2 door.

I have never been in the back of an E46 Coupe, but that rear seat is probable very similar as well.

i would imagine it is adequate for adults if necessary but nothing close to spacious. probably a pita to get in and out of but functional for adults.

iirc, someone said they sat in the backseat and knee room and head room were not an issue for them ... but they were like 5-8 or something. i could have completely made that up but i seem to remember it somewhere....

I rarly carry more then one passenger at a time but there are occasions where I do have three people in the car. As long as its barable I am fine with it. I am sure its about the same size if not a tiny bit smaller E46 coupe back seat and that is very spacious to me.

I was able to sit in back of an 330cic and an M3 and there was plenty of space. If the 135 comes close to an e46 in terms of space it will be more than adequate for my needs. Also helps that my kids are very young and my wife is only 4' 10" Technically she would be able to fit into the back seat of a new Audi TT but I don't think I'd try that.
