Major Service at 47 months

After the normal service schedules, first big service today, oil, filter. Air filter spark plugs and cabin filter after nearly 4 years and 30k miles.

Amazing that brake pads are still on 6mm front and 4mm rear but mostly motorway driving

Still enjoying the M40i and aim to keep until the new model in 2024

Shouldn’t need spark plugs at only 30k miles.

I'm in the almost exact same position. Had my big, 4-year service. 2 weeks ago. Much lower mileage than OP, so I have 9mm remaining on pads and 5mm all round on tyres. Main dealer, as I have service package and extended warranty. Car nearly 4 years old and 16500 miles, (mainly thanks to Covid lockdowns!).

I'm planning on a similar time frame to change too - i.e. keeping mine until next gen X3. I've tried a couple of times to replace my current car with a new LCI model but have either never been able to get the spec I want due to chip / wiring harness shortages or just ridiculous lead times, (last quoted 13 months !!).

It will be interesting to see what the G45 will look like and what engine options will be offered. Apparently the timing is awkward for BMW in terms of architecture, with CLAR being retired in 2025, in favour of a new architecture.

Supposedly manufacturing begins summer 2024, so MY 25, and I wonder how long deliveries to the UK will take…….

Great - like bloody phones. You get a new one and then a new one comes :-|. Still, at least we have a couple of years to keep the new beast fresh.
