Fake CF trim to cover the glossy black factory center piece

Has anyone seen this available online domestically rather than having to order on AliExpress?

For $30 bucks members seem to be impressed with the cheap Aliexpress. What's the concern with ordering internationally?

I went the cheap aliexpress route, did the rear AC middle console as well.. didn't turn out bad at all... though, real CF wouldnt of hurt

. 30$ was a nice way to hold me over though. and shipping took forever, as usual. A nice bonus is now my wife thinks real CF is that cheap.

I totally overlooked this perk when I got the fake center piece.. So now I too can go buy more real CF and she will think I spent $100 at most!

I had a VW GTI a while back where the center console around the shifter was all scratched up and since the console was black and the underlying plastic was white, it looked awful. I ended up removing the entire piece around the shifter and painting it. I'll have to look up the type of spray paint that I used but I got the idea from online forums.

First one arrived broken. PayPal has been useless and seller wants me to ship it back at my cost (despite pics when I unwrapped it) before they do anything. I’ve been thinking of going down the wrap route.

If you search for 5d carbon wrap on eBay there are some pretty convincing wraps available now. There’s also a few YouTube videos too on the subject. I might pop into my local wrappers and see what they’ve got and how much it would cost to be professionally done as opposed to me doing it for £20 of wrap.

I bought Aliexpress wrap ( all nicely cut to size) and spent nearly 2 hours making a total hash of it. I would definitely recommend getting it done by someone who knows what they are doing.

I didn’t have any CF in the rest of the car. My goal was to cover the glossy brown trim which wasn’t appealing to me. But it looks pretty close to the OEM version, and fitment was pretty solid.

does it just use double sided sticky tape to attach to existing wood trip? That's what I have and i don't like it... is there a significant gap between old trim and this new stuff?

This one is sticky tape but the cf is thin and there is very little gap in my estimation. Most people have told me it looks OEM. I can try and take see day time pics today and post later.

Here are some more pics. Only spot that didn’t match as much as I would like is just above the memory seat controls. Not perfect but pretty damn good.
