Active Blind Spot Detection Malaunction

2018 440i xdrive

When I first purchased the vehicle the blind spot detection markers were working as they should.

Today I noticed it was off so I turned it on and when I started driving I got the dreaded gong noise alerting me that the blind spot detection system is malfunctioning.

I cleaned the sensors and cameras and still would malfunction within seconds driving off.

I did a scan and i had 4 codes (attached). I cleared the codes and it still would not work.

The 2 "car access system" codes wont clear but not sure if its related.

My question is; What's causing the issue and how can I fix it?

Thanks in advance

FYI… The radar sensors for blind spot are behind the rear bumper(on the side).

Can’t help with the error codes you have but I can offer some things to check. Have you replaced the battery recently and was it registered? Also, If you’ve done any coding recently maybe revert the changes and see if it helps.

I did do some coding via bimmercode so i will see if reverting things helps. i have same the battery from factory tho it did die and needed a recharge after sitting 6 weeks in the cold. Can the sensor be seen from the outside of the car?

First I'll check the battery charge level and make sure it is still healthy. If it looks good then revert your bimmercode changes.

The radar sensors are not visible from outside the car. Gotta remove the bumper, see the image below for their approximate location.

Thanks!

When I checked the battery yesterday it was 82% state of charge and the lowest I've seen it wass 74%. Gonna play around today with the backups on bimmercode and see if that helps. Will update.
