Why do my angels come on?

I was playing around with my headlights and started the car with headlight control being set to 0. When I turned on the engine my angel eyes still turned on. It’s a silly thing, but I am wondering if this is how it’s supposed to be? If I then switch to say automatic setting and then back to 0 my lights do go off.
