New Interiors for '09 5 and 6-series

http://www.bmwcarmagazine.com/newsitem.asp?newsID=15

Does anyone here have a better article about this story from BMWCar magazine's website?

This new 6 interior is quite different for midway through the LCI life cycle, so I'm wondering if the E60's will be as different to the current one.

I saw photos from M5Board where someone took delivery of a 2009 M5. The only difference in the interior was that there were additional buttons around the iDrive knob. The actual functions on the iDrive were still the same as the previous model years.

This picture looks like someone did a photoshop using the steering wheel of the current E60 M5 and combined it with the interior of the upcoming 7 series. Maybe this is the direction they are going for the upcoming 5 series in 2010 or so.

The picture in the first post is from BMW's IDrive v 2.0 prototype setup on E61. It is a official BMW pic. More below.

Don't believe the weird trim in those pics as that is just for prototype. Also the center arm rest is fake and just for prototype.

The pictures are from here: http://www.5post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=182623

Its a prototype interior to test out iDrive, but alot of the elements are probably to be used in a new BMW car and the F10 5-Series is a good candidate.

The german BMW web site clearly shows the new HD based iDrive in the 5 series...

It also shows the old steering wheel and the old gear shift knob.
