Hello fellow Canadian BMW owners and enthusiast. Long term lurker here and first time posting. I have a few questions for Canadian 40i and 45e:

Q: Does 45e also have 17.06 usable kWh battery in Canada? (out of 24kWh).

Q: Does X5 get acoustic windows here?

Q: Does 3D view work in Canada?

Q: Does Canadian X5 shows speed limit information on the HUD?

Q: Does remote start from app work?

Q: Can you connect Bluetooth wireless headphones with the rear seat entertainment system?

Q: When factory trailer tow hitch is ordered in Canada do we loose foot activated rear hatch opening option?

Q: When M Sport package with square wheels 740M are ordered can we special order the spare tire? I hear M Sport package with staggered set is not allowed to have spare tire.

Q: Is tenue cover standard? What is included in Storage Compartment Package?

Q: If something goes wrong with laser lights outside of warranty then do we have to replace the complete frame? Is it serviceable at all?

Q: Do you have to order DHP to get side-to-side rear torque vectoring?

There is no place for the spare tire

You don't need remote start. Remote heating and cooling with the app will work.

Air suspension is standard and DHP not available

Storage comp package doesn't include the automatic cover.

Yes. And I don't miss it.
The 45e hitch looks different from the photo in the web site.
40i has the normal 2" hitch receiver, but the 45e may only have the hitch ball and not the receiver (unless they posted the wrong photo).

Q: Is tenue cover standard? What is included in Storage Compartment Package?

Manual cover is standard.
40i's storage compartment package has the really cool "magically disappear" motorized cover, and the rubber strips on the floor which elevate when the car is moving to prevent boxes/objects from sliding, and it comes with cargo net.
45e does not have the motorized cover.

I can assist with a few questions.

Q: Does 3D view work in Canada?
A: I use the remote 3D view often and it does work. I do believe you need to be signed up for the service though and it requires the driving assistance pro (I believe that’s the upgrade name

Q: Does Canadian X5 shows speed limit information on the HUD?
A: Yes, it does. There’s a camera in front of the visor and it reads the speed limit signs. If a sign is covered then it won’t update in the HUD

Q: Does remote start from app work?
A: Works from the app or key. I believe I pushed the lock button 3 times to get the car started.

Q: When factory trailer tow hitch is ordered in Canada do we loose foot activated rear hatch opening option?
A: When configuring the vehicle, it does mention this in fine print so yes.
