X5 45E IAS and acoustic glass
I am considering an x5 hybrid and find that the IAS and acoustic glass are no longer available - is this accurate ?
Dealer says he spoke to BMW and confirmed it being unavailable . How is the steering difference for folks who have driven with one earlier ? |

Your dealer is correct. In the US, acoustic glass is not available on any MY21 X5 and IAS is only available on the M50i.

That sucks, I really like IAS to park
At medium speeds it is kinda whobbly but i cant compare to the non AIS so perhaps its just the X being higher (my previous car was a 5 series) Acoustic glas is also quite nice but I think the X5 will be very silent without it as well... I think chance are that it will return at some point. Tartufo leather was unavailable when i ordered the car and now it is available once more. from what i heard supply issues. So perhaps, Covid being a thing these days, supply has dried up? |

I had IAS in my previous X5, 40i (2019, long story) and the value it provided was right of the driveway as i was able to do smaller turns to reverse the vehicle.

I have IAS and love it. I dont have acoustic glass and i dont miss it. Quiet enough, on electric, super quiet, on ICE sometimes i would love to hear the engine a little better 😂
