Picking up my new X5 soon! 3rd Row!
I'm excited to be getting into a new X5 soon! Delivery day on Sept 12th.
Trading in my Space Grey F15 X5 which I love dearly. New one will be Carbon Black with Coffee Vernasca interior highlighted with Piano Black trim and 3rd row option! We had this one factory ordered a couple months ago that includes the 3rd row, but the caveat was to see if the 3rd row would work for us and our rear facing car seats. After a TON of research and digging online to see what kind of space is actually available in a 3rd row in terms of legroom, it was so reassuring to see it in person and to know that our car seats work in the 2nd row. In case anybody else is in the same situation, or is looking for more help with legroom space in the 3rd row, just ask and I'll do what I can to help you out since I know information online is minimal. Our situation with the 3rd row is this: We have 2 rear facing Clek Fllo car seats in the 2nd row. Nobody in our family is over 5'7". With the driver's seat in a comfortable driving position, the Clek Fllo fits in the 2nd row given that the seats are pushed back completely to the 3rd row. The front passenger seat had to be pushed forward an inch or two more than the driver's seat to accommodate the rear facing Clek in the 2nd row to make room in the 3rd row for a shorter adult (ie. 5'7 or 5'8" or less). With this setup, everyone would be pretty comfortable for likely an hour. Wouldn't want to go on a 4 or 5 hour road trip in the 3rd row like this though. Once the car seats are flipped to front facing, there's plenty of comfortable room in the 3rd row. In which case I'd have no problem sitting back there for several hours. Anyways, that's it for now. I might do a video of the 3rd row because I know there's next to no quality info out there on legroom. Countdown to Sept 12th begins! Last edited by hksr; 08-17-2020 at 11:00 AM.. |

It's even harder when I know the vehicle is sitting at the dealership waiting for me! I only have time to go pickup on a weekend, and there's scheduling conflicts between the dealership and I, so I have to wait almost 4 weeks!

Yes! Thanks for all your help! As you can see, I'm gonna pay it forward There's so little info on the 3rd row in the new X5.

Funny...I'm south Island and I also traded in my 2016 Space Grey X5 xDrive 50i on my 2020 X5 m50i. I like the set up you chose for yours.
Question...I have the 22" wheels on mine, not run flats. What are yours? I'm only asking since I need to look at a winter wheel or tire setup for the malahat.

You've got the perfect combo of bimmers that I'm looking at doing in a few years (ie. M50i and M340 ) |

The dealer says they can do a set of 19" that fit the M50i, tires and wheels for $4K. Doesn't seem terrible if you price out a set of 22" tires for my current rims at $2900 tires only. And thanks. I feel lucky & fortunate to have them both sitting in the drive way!
